JAMROUTES
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
This policy explains how JamRoutes (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this website or travel with us in Jamaica. We handle personal information in line with the Jamaica Data Protection Act, 2020.
Information we collect
- Booking and enquiry details: your name, email address, phone number, pickup and destination, travel dates and times, flight details, group size, luggage, add-ons, places or interests for a tour, and any notes you send us.
- Payment records: the amount, status and PayPal reference for each payment and refund. Card and bank details are entered with PayPal; we never see or store them.
- Feedback: ratings, comments and the display name you give in an after-trip survey.
- Technical information: your IP address, which is converted to a one-way code to limit abuse of our fare checker, and standard server logs kept by our hosting provider for security.
Please don’t send card numbers, passport numbers or health information in a form or message. If you need a particular kind of help on your trip, a short note is enough.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare your quote and confirm your booking.
- To arrange and run your trip, including assigning a driver and checking flight times.
- To take payment and issue refunds.
- To send you emails about your trip: receipts, confirmations, changes and an after-trip survey.
- To keep our website and booking system secure and prevent fraud.
- To keep the business and tax records the law requires.
We use your information because you asked us to quote for or provide a trip, because the law requires it, or because we have a legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable service. We publish your review only if you agree to it. We don’t send marketing emails, and we never sell your information.
Who we share it with
- Your driver: your name, phone number, pickup details, flight details, group size and trip notes, so they can collect you.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website, stores files and delivers our emails.
- Neon: hosts the database that stores bookings.
- PayPal: processes payments and refunds under its own privacy policy.
- Google: when we use Google Maps Platform to calculate a route distance, it receives the pickup and destination locations, but not your name or contact details.
- WhatsApp: if you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to that conversation.
- Authorities: only when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
Some of these providers process information outside Jamaica, including in the United States. We use established providers that protect personal information under their own data protection commitments.
How long we keep it
We keep booking, payment and correspondence records for seven years after your trip to meet tax and accounting requirements, then delete them. If your enquiry didn’t become a booking, you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Cookies
The public website doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies. Staff and driver sign-in uses essential cookies to keep people signed in. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site.
Keeping it safe
Information is sent over encrypted connections, and only authorised staff and your assigned driver can see your booking. Your booking receipt link is private, so share it only with people you want to see your trip.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent to a published review. To make a request, use our contact page. We’ll reply within 30 days.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner in Jamaica.
Children
Children are welcome on our trips with an adult, but bookings must be made by someone aged 18 or over. We don’t knowingly collect information directly from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date above.
